Repeat Prescriptions

If your doctor agrees, you may obtain a repeat prescription for regular medication. Please present the special request slip at the surgery at least 3 working days before you need the prescription.

Requests may be posted or handed in to Reception but, in the interests of safety, requests cannot be accepted by telephone. If you provide a stamped, addressed envelope we will return the prescription to you. Prescriptions can be ordered via our Online facility Patient Access

Certain Chemists collect from both surgeries and you may make arrangements with the Chemist for this. Additional notice should be given to ensure that the chemist sufficient time to collect the repeat prescription.

 

 

Hospitals are contracted by the NHS to supply patients with medication following discharge from inpatient or day case care for the period established minimum 7 days.

 

New Medicine Service

If you are prescribed an anticoagulant (a blood-thinning medicine) or a medicine to treat asthmachronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)type 2 diabetes or high blood pressure for the first time, you can get extra help and advice about your medicine from your local pharmacist through a free scheme called the New Medicine Service (NMS).

Getting rid of unwanted medicines

If your medicine is out of date, unwanted, or some of it is left over after you have stopped taking it, don’t put it in your household bin or flush it down the toilet. Instead, take it to your pharmacy to be disposed of safely.
